Vengeance!

The darkness around the hotel started vanishing with the dawn. The streets lights are still glowing. The streets were almost empty. Fresh cool breeze is passing the empty streets, is clearing dust on the leafs collected over the day, is mesmerizing the mind with the aroma of the fresh air, is passing by through the  open half of the window. The sun hidden by the clouds escaped. The view of the colors in the sky was like a painted canvas. It started to turn into white and blue painted canvas. Like someone was morphing the sky. The sun-rays through the window hit the bed. The air in the room is now getting lil warmer. It is 7.00 in the morning now.

Dev woke up from his bed. He stretched out his hands and while relaxing wished the sun ‘Good Morning’. Moving towards the mirror, mounted above the sink, picked up the photo lying on the table next to the bed. He gave a vigorous smile at it and threw the photo on the bed. He looked for a while in the mirror at his face, He cleared the long curly hair covering his face and now he has a clear view of his face. His face turned lil red by looking at the burnt skin on one side of his face. His last wish was to make the burnt, ugly looking side of his face as charming as the other side.

Dev was good looking boy in his childhood. He had many friends. His parents were earning enough that dev could leave a happy childhood. Dev lost his parents when he was 16. He escaped the incident in which he lost his parents, but left with burnt skin on one side of his upper body. He later stayed with his grandparents. They have received a hefty sum of money from the insurance companies after dev’s parents death. With the money, dev’s grandparents raised him in more than comfort The only thing his grandparents worried were, dev was highly disturbed with his parents death.

Now, dev owns a small chain of restaurants in his town. He earns a decent money and lives with his grandparents taking care of them. He is currently now in delhi, in a hotel room, on some task which he told to  his grandparents to be a business trip. Dev got refreshed. He came out of the room with his belongings. He handed over the keys to the person at the reception and informed that he is vacating the room.

Dev got into public transport bus. He took his ticket. The place he has to reach is 16kms away from the hotel. The task is his mission. He wasn’t nervous but was deeply thinking of someting that he didn’t even notice his co-passenger wishing him ‘Good Morning’. Time is running out for him. After travelling for some time, he noticed the board with the area name where he is supposed to get down. The bus stopped at some distance. He got down and looked around. He started walking towards the west and stopped after a while in front of a big wall.

The wall has small gate. There were two security personnel guarding in front of the gate. Above the gate, on the wall is written ‘JAIL’. Yes, jail. A police van came and stopped near the gate. Four police men came down of the van and started chatting with the security. The security nodded their head in agreement and one of the security personnel opened the gate and walked into the Jail.

Dev was watching this from the tea stall on the other side of the road. He was sipping his third tea while watching the drama happening at the gate. He looked very calm like a crocodile on the river shore which is waiting for its prey to reach the bank. He heard noise of the opening gate and the security personnel came out along with a guy. The face is same as the face in the photo which he was looking at, smiling vigorously, in the hotel room. He was the guy whom he was expecting to come out. He jumped up from the table and ran towards the jail. While running he took the pistol from his pocket....

Dev went to a shopping mall with his parents on a Sunday. The mall was crowded. They ended up their shopping and were about to exit the mall. They turned back and were looking for Dev. Dev was coming towards them with a greeting card, for his parents as it was their marriage day on the next day. Suddenly there was blast near the exit gate. Dev was thrown to a distance . With the blast, few shops caught fire and the fire started spreading. He was lying on the ground. There was no movement of his body. Few people came near to his body and were trying to turn out the fire on him. His body is burnt. All he could feel is pain. The ambulance arrived and he was moved to the hospital. Later, he came to know that his parents are no more. He cried. He felt more pain. He felt anger. He felt revenge. After a few days, the news channel came up with headlines ‘mastermind behind the blasts held’.

... and started shooting at the guy. He was shooting at the same guy, AK,  who was held. One bullet hit the shoulder, other hit near the abdomen and one near to the heart. AK’s body hit the ground. Police men moved forward and started firing back at dev. He didn’t want to hurt the policemen. He only wanted to kill, in vengeance, the person who killed his parents. He stopped firing back  but the bullets from the police guns put him down. AK and dev were moved to the hospital in the same ambulance, but both of them were dead before reaching the hospital.

In the fond memory of the families broken in the Mumbai blast, the story is a dedication to them.

  8. hey.. thats good man.. you have a very good imagination, you can become a story writer :) the way you explain things makes me go into the story !
So do you feel Dev did the right thing ? I dont think so, because the killer did not have any personal grudge against Dev's parents, and he lost his life in the process ..
